Happy Fathers Day

Fathers are very rarely appreciated. One reason being is that they’re not there. But even when they are we take it for granted. We expect a man to step up, so when they do it’s more like “GOOD THAT WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING ANYWAY.” They don’t get any extra recognition or anything of that nature. So with that said I do recognize fathers.

I recognize my father, my uncles who are fathers, and my friends that are now fathers. I appreciate everything you do. God Bless.

Jordan Memories

Today when looking for shoes to wear I ran across my Jordan 11’s. Oh man, it brought back so many memories. I have worn Jordan’s since I was a little baby. My family is from Puerto Rico and Chicago, so you can just imagine how much they loved the BULLS. It’s amazing to me how you can leave a legacy so big that 18 years later you and your brand is still relevant.

Baking a cake

My lovely mother is a pastry chef. No proper schooling, no fancy degree, nothing. Just raw talent, and hours of practice. I’d like to think that I inherited her creative and persistent qualitys. Like most hispanic mothers, in the works of Celia Cruz, her “English isn’t too very good looking.” My mother never let that stop her though. Without my mother there would be no Kasa De Kriz. So this is a little dedication to her.

Got to mix is just right

Spread it out nicely

Add in the sufficient amount of liquor, making sure not to over power the flavor

And finally put it all together and create a CAKE MASTERPIECE

I would have more photos, but my mother kicked me out of the kitchen.

Graduation

Four years. Every year held its own significant meaning in my life. I went in freshman year not knowing where I was going in life. At that time you are discovering who you are, and what you want to be like. Every year I learned something new, and identified the person who I am. I have much to learn, but now four years later, I have a good idea of where I want to go. Things will change, that is inevitable, but with all the things I learned in the past four years, I will be able to face the changes, and make the best of anything I am given.

I wouldn’t change anything, even if I had the opportunity to. I embrace all the events, the situations, and the relationships as contributions in making me who I am today.

This is only the beginning, graduation sets a good foundation to the rest of my life. I thank everyone who was there for me. I love you all, and will never let you down.

On a boat

Yesterday I went on a boat with a family friend, and my cousins from Puerto Rico. We had a good time. There really is no other feeling then that of being on a boat.

Typewriter

I visited a friend of mine, he’s a writer, and he had this old typewriter. I saw it and I couldn’t help but ask if I can use it.

Not for nothing, but it even smelled like “VINTAGE”.

A computer is nice, and much more efficient, but there is something about the feeling that you get when using a typewriter.

Yes, I misspelled “TYPEWRITER”, but there is no BACKSPACE BUTTON on these.

Nothing better the home made breakfast. Today at school they were serving French toast, and my friend ALEX was cutting his in a wierd way. I said “hey that looks like a house.” So he finished cutting it and here it is.

Mercedes Benz e350

My uncle came to visit yesterday, and I swear every time I see him he has a new car. Cadillac, BMW, this time he came in a Mercedes Benz e350.

His reaction to why he bought was “I GOT TIRED OF THE BMW”…. I mean sure, if you got it to spend, why not.

As you can see, the car is super clean. Just thought I’d take a few photos, so they can serve as motivation to keep working hard like my uncle.

Project:Shirt

So with a new found interest in sewing, I took a shirt ripped it apart and tried to put it back together.

I sewed together half of the shirt, horribly, but atleast I understand the concept.

Conclusion, this project was a FAIL. I was like a little kid who just barely learned how to ride a bike with training wheels, and tried to take on a steep downhill. However, I had fun, and it’s definitely not the last time I sew.

Maybe one day there will be KRIZ MADE SHIRTS. As for now, i’ll just keep having fun with it.

Key to Success

“The key to success, is not by simple helping yourself, but by helping others reach it as well..”

I was told this by multiple businessmen and women.

After thinking about it though, I have always known this. My brother William, has helped me from the very beginning. Before I ever knew that I was going to be doing business. He has shown me through his actions, that it is good to help others. There is never a time when somebody needs his help and he isn’t there for them. In turn when he needs something, people are quick to help him.

This is a tough concept to wrap your head around, given that when in business, you are always competing. It almost goes against business instincts to help someone out. You have the mentality that “I myself am trying to make it, why would I help you.”

None the less, that is the key to success. I have literally seen it play out. From individuals to full fledge 30 year old businesses. The key to success, is not simply by helping yourself, but by helping others reach it as well.
