Blind
Last week I sat down and had a tall vanilla amaretto with a good friend of mine. We held a rather interesting conversation. We talked about life, goals, the position where each of us were, and where we would want to be. We shared interest and viewpoints, not always agreeing, but never the less seeing and understanding why the other may think that way.
Among the things spoken, we talked about, blindness. Not physically blind, but blind to what may be out there in the world. My friend said “I feel sorry for people in Poinciana and Kissimmee (Florida). People move there, and that’s it. They may live the rest of their lives there, never knowing what the world may have to offer.” This is true. Sometimes we get so caught up in work and family, that we don’t take the time out to see and learn about other things.
I myself was blind to the fact that Orlando has an art scene. Last year I wrote a post about Floridas Art Scene, where I said that Florida has no art scene. I was so wrong, in the past few months I have been introduced to a whole world and culture that I never even knew about. Mind you this is just in Florida, imagine all the things I may be blind to in the whole world.
So with that I say, there’s nothing wrong with being practical, there’s nothing wrong with working and taking care of your family, but just know that there is much more to life then just that. There are many things out there that you could be blind to. I know I can’t live knowing that. I want to see and learn new things, and probably will keep doing so until I cant no more. Until old age hits me, and I won’t be able to remember much, but I’ll have random flashbacks of places I seen, things I have learned, and people I have met.

This would make a good devo. What do u think? Can I use it?
